Previously I wrote a post on another tea, Hattiali Golden Paw, from Lochan Tea. This is second time I’ve had the chance to review their teas. This week’s tea is called Doke Black Fusion which is hand-made black tea made of 1st flush tea leaves of 2014. It’s from Doke Tea Estate in Bihar, India which is owned by Lochan Family.
Dry tea leaves are dark black, long and wiry. They are quite tender and thick composed of well proportioned full tea leaves. The leaves smell like chocolate with a hint of smokiness in the background.
When it’s infused it reminded me of Chinese black teas I’ve drunk from Guangdong province of China. With the infusion chocolaty flavor gets even more apparent.
The liquor is brilliant red color. The dominating sweetness of this tea is accompanied by a tad astringency. In a way it’s a nice combination of sweetness and astringency.
